Welcome Home.

Lis: The mama behind The House That Mama Runs

Hi! I'm Lis.
I'm so glad you've found your way here.

I’m a mother, a maker, and someone who has spent her whole life paying attention to what makes a place feel like home. Not just a house — but the feeling of being held, fed, welcomed, and at ease in your own skin.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to that feeling. I think of it as the frequency of home — the quiet sense of belonging that lives in ordinary moments: a pot on the stove, light in a window, a table set with care, people gathered without rushing.

The House That Mama Runs isn’t a business so much as a way of living.
It’s the natural extension of how I mother, cook, design, gather, and move through the world — looking for small, human ways to serve love and let it flow where it’s needed.

Our historic home, and the life unfolding inside it, has become the place where all of this comes together. It’s where food, family, creativity, and care meet — sometimes quietly, sometimes joyfully, always imperfectly and with heart.

Over time, this way of living has grown into different expressions: shared meals, design work, writing, gatherings, and spaces where people can slow down and feel at home again.

At the center of everything I do is a very simple belief:
love isn’t an idea — it’s something you practice.

It looks like feeding people well.
Listening without fixing.
Creating spaces that feel warm and human.
Letting joy lead.
Choosing care over performance.

I’m not here to teach a philosophy or sell a lifestyle. I’m here to live mine honestly, and to leave the door open for others who resonate with this way of being.

If this space feels familiar, grounding, or quietly inviting to you — you’re in the right place.

Welcome home.

Thank you for being here.

With Love-

Lis
